At Cicero United Methodist Church we like to have fun. Events are scheduled throughout the year so we can enjoy each other's company and at the same time carry out our mission.
We often begin our church school year with Noah's Carnival which includes games for the children, a magician, face painting, pony rides ice cream and popcorn, and an outdoor worship service. Each summer, the church sponsors a canoe outing. Canoes are provided by our Scout Troop. Popular destinations include the Lakeview Wildlife Management Area on Lake Ontairo, Deer Creek, also on Lake Ontario, and Fish Creek. We bring along a picnic supper and usually stop for ice cream on the way home. This picture was taken on the shore of Lake Ontario, a great place to swim. This picture was taken on a cruise on the Fulton Chain of Lakes. A group of about 12 took the Adirondak Railroad from Utica to Old Forge and then a cruise. It was a beautiful, sunny day. PIctured; Dick Parker, Dorothy Parker, Larry Bonxpille and Bob Coe. Our Church family takes great delight in decorating the sanctuary for the Christmas season. This decades long tradition involves around 75 people of all ages working together and having fun singing, eating and socializing. One afternoon, a group of seniors in the church got together and shared their hobbies. Examples include needle work, wood work, bells, photography and geneaology. Pictured; Judy Backus, Paul Meigs and Rhondda Heil. |
