I remember when Linda & I were just teenagers, I was given a card from the leader of our Campus Life / Youth for Christ group. It said "God is my strength and refuge – a very present help in times of trouble".  I kept that card in my wallet until it was so worn it could not be read.

Over our 27 years together Linda & I as a couple and then as a family have always felt God with us.  When we lived in Baltimore we searched for a long time to find a congregation that reflected God's grace & love, as well as providing us with the sense of unity and fellowship which we had experienced as teenagers.  We found that church just a year before we moved to CNY.  It was heart breaking to have to move away after just having been brought back into the flock! We resolved during our search for a new house that finding a church family that sought to follow where the Lord lead, in addition to providing the unity and fellowship we had previously experienced would complete our new home.

We searched the Syracuse area and visited many churches during our house-hunting trips.  However, when we visited CUMC we knew we had found a caring & loving congregation.  A church family that loves the Lord and tries it's best to do His work.  Over the past five years our brothers & sisters in Christ at Cicero United Methodist Church have helped us to overcome & accept the trials and tribulations which we have faced – and to rejoice in our continued walk of faith.

Cicero United Methodist Church (CUMC) is an integral part of the surrounding community.  Seven days a week God's children can be found here in any combination of: Worship, Sunday School, Bible Study, Mission Work, community outreach, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Campfire Boys/Girls…and the list goes on.  Currently our 13 year old is in Bell Choir and the Youth Group, while our 11 year old is involved in Sacred Dance – waiting for the day she can also join the Youth Group.

Cicero United Methodist Church is a continuation of God's promise to be our "…strength and refuge – a very present help in times of trouble."

If you do not have a church family I pray you will come to visit us at CUMC.  Ask for Linda or Scott Gring.  We would love to meet you.
