1. Not too big/not too small many of our members comment that
they experience a place big enough to offer a whole range of programs, but not
so big that they feel lost or forgotten.
2. Open Communion table we believe the invitation to the
Lords Table is extended to all members, non-members, all ages all are
invited to receive the symbols of the Body and the Blood with us.
3. Diverse spiritual journeys we are united by our love for God
and for Gods world, and our desire to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. Beyond that, we have a wide diversity of
theological views, and a lively discussion of issues, based on mutual challenge
and respect. Bible studies and other small groups are emphasized.
4. Women in leadership In 2006, the United Methodist Church celebrated the 50th
anniversary of the ordination of women.
We value the leadership of women at every level of our church life.
5. Families/Children while the age range of our
congregation is from 0-100 (and counting), we have an unusual number of
children, youth, and parents, and a strong educational program for all ages.
6. Worship options our more contemporary service is
led by our Praise and Worship team; our more traditional service features our
chancel choir; we have a monthly quieter service for healing and prayer. Bells,
drama and dance are vital parts of our worship life.
7. Caring/praying we have a strong partnership
between clergy and lay for providing prayer and care support. Lay ministries
include the Care Committee and the Stephen Ministries.
8. Every Member in Ministry we emphasize active participation,
with no one on the sidelines. Our gifts
and talents are celebrated.
9. A Worldwide Connection as United Methodists, we are
excited to be part of a support and mission connection that extends across Central New York, the United States, and around the world.
