The Cicero United Methodist Church has been a vibrant Christian community of faith for 165 years. Attendance each Sunday averages around 400, equally split between our 8:45 contemporary and 10:30 traditional services. Our Sunday School program serves over 150 children and adults.  Nursery care is provided during both services.

We welcome all to join with us in worship, service and fellowship. Our program includes many opportunities for participation: Chancel, Junior and Bell Choirs; Christian education for all ages; prayer groups; United Methodist Women's circles and Jr. and Sr. Youth Fellowship groups.  Our facilities are fully handicap accessible, large print hymnals and hearing aids are available.

church-rainbow.jpgRev. Everett Bassett is is a gifted preacher with the ability to inspire and challenge us.  Rev Jack Keating is our Assistant Pastor.  We also have a tradition of strong lay leadership.  Members are encouraged to participate in some facet of church life which may be of particular interest to them.  Many hands make light work.

Our Director of Christian Education, Susanna Bonspille, leads a group of about 30 teachers.  There are classes available during both services including at least one adult class during the first service.

Our Evangelism Team strives to make our church a welcoming community.

Our Director of Congregational Life, Sharon Bassett, helps members to become more involved in the life of the church through participation in small groups.

Nancy Congdon our Music Ministry Director also directs the Chancel Choir.  Her staff includes organist/pianist Scott Rohrbacher, Junior Choir Director and Bell Choir Director, Ken Maughan. We also have Cherub and Children's Choirs directed by Phyllis Chapman.

Scouting is active at CUMC - Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and Campfire Kids meet here weekly. We are pleased to provide a facility for them and are proud of our many members working in scouting throughout the community.

We are committed to community service and are linked with Westside Ministry, Samaritan Center, Cicero Food Pantry, Inter-religious Council, CROP Walk, Onondaga Pastoral Counseling Center and the American Red Cross.
